Star Wars Battlefront II is a shooter game, which can be played in both, either in a first person perspective or a third person perspective. The game features both single player and multiplayer game modes. 

The main Gameplay is split in two categories: ground battles and space battles. Both type of battles occur across three eras: 

• The Clone Wars, in which battles take place between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. clone troopers are the soldiers in these battles.

• The Galactic Civil War, where battles take place between the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. Battle droids are the soldiers in these battles.

• The war between the Resistance and the First Order. Stormtroopers are the soldiers in these battles.

Each era features its own unique type of soldiers that players control, but one thing which is common in all is that, they all are controlled similarly. Every era also features specific starfighters, which, play differently from each other.

Battles take place in various maps, and every era has its own collection of exclusive maps. the game features  15 locations from the Star Wars universe.
