About The World Next Door
The World Next Door is an indie visual novel and puzzle game. It was developed by American studio Rose City Games and finally published by Viz Media in 2019.
About The Story and Gameplay of The World Next Door
The game revolves around a human teenager named Emrys, who becomes trapped in a parallel universe, , and must escape before she perishes away.
The game is divided into two sections :
1. visual novel section- Most of the game takes place in the visual novel sections, which allow the player to choose dialog options, complete quests, and choose whom to spend time with each day, as well as who will assist the player in the dungeons.
2. Puzzle Dungeons section- This section of the world next door involves a Match three gameplay in which the floor of the dungeon is painted with runes. If the player steps on three runes of the same color, they can perform a magical action.
The player also have the option to drag the runes to match them, or combine more than three runes for an even more powerful spell. The Gameplay of Puzzle dungeons section is similar to the gameplay of mobile games like Candy Crush, Pet Rescue, etc.
